Say goodbye to lite versions in app store

In App Purchases now can be used in free apps to sell content, subscriptions, and digital services.

A single version of an app that uses In App Purchase to unlock additional functionality, eliminating the need to create Lite versions of an app.

This alone should eliminate about 50,000 apps from the store as there so many that have two versions, an lite (demo) version and the full (pay for version).

Good move.

Shameless Craftsmanship. Why was this appoved?

I am surfing around in the app store and come across a shocking product listing.

It basically says yes the product does not work, because there bugs, and the developer does not care, because he is to busy making another buggy non working game for your iPhone.

At least that's how I read it. Isn't there any pride any more in delivering products that work. Or at least fixing something so it will work.
The amazing thing This app was not free, until people complained about, it. Don't people test products before they ship any more?

So Apple does reject apps to the app store, we know that. I guess if it falls into "It does not work, because it's developer to lazy to fix it" is ok and gets approved. This one, it's own developer abandoned it before he submitted it to the store, Unreal. Where's apple standards on rejection? I'd say does not work, would be #1 checklist item on the rejection list in my book.

Specially considering here this product was not free when it first was listed. Not until some people who paid money and found out it did not work. They told the apps developer, who only could make it free and not fix it. I guess that company dose not stand behind there products or work. At least that what it seems to be from such a product listing as that shown above.

It's developer at least could pull it from the store. And not waste people's time. After reading that listing I decided agaist buying any more apps from the app store. If there no standards on rejecting apps that do not work, Then I am not buying any more apps.

(There could be hundreds more paid apps out there that do not work either. If this got appoved, as a paid app. Then there has to be more such shameless non working apps out there.)

(Look at the pic. I had to document this, as no one would ever believe such a thing, The Product called crazy waiter.)

We're about to hit a billion.

As of today, nearly one billion apps have been downloaded around the globe. So we just want to say thanks — a billion. Download an app and you’ll automatically get the chance to win a $10,000 iTunes Gift Card, an iPod touch, a Time Capsule, and a MacBook Pro. Just go to the iTunes Store, browse the App Store, and download your best app yet.

Start downloading free apps. You can also just submit up to 25 free entry forms here, a day. @ http://www.apple.com/itunes/billion-app-countdown/

I tried to enter more than once. It would not let me enter any more times than one time. So either that is a typo or they have some problem with accepting more than one submittion a day. Humm, ?

Good luck.
