Worst TV Network on the planet, releases just as bad iPhone app as it horrible TV lineup.

NBC The Office Challenge
I think this appvee video sums it up the best. What would one except from NBC ? They have like the worst TV shows I've every seen. The few good ones they ever had, they Cancel (like; Chuck). So we already know NBC's judgement on making quality decisions is pretty piss poor and sorry. This game pretty much stinks!

I have noticed a trend with iPhone / iPod Touch apps. The bigger the company, making the apps the poorer the overall quality and fun factor. The independent shops are making the quality stuff. Stick with the little guy and you will find all your touch app treasures.

Galaga touch trash

Galaga is one of my all time fav games of all time. Play it back when there was things called arcades, had it on the commodore 64 when I was a kid. Played flash knock offs of it. So I had to try it on the iPhone.

The problem here first off they have this boarder around the play screen, so everything is so tiny. Second the controls suck. They made 3 bad options, none of which allows the user to naviagte the ship and shot effectively at the same time.

It may have been better is this was in landscape mode with the controls they give you. That not an option.

Testing products, and how they work. How is the overall gameplay etc. Etc. Should be part of every developers routine.

I test out other peoples products all the time to see what works and what does not.(to use or not use in my own stuff) This is a really good example of what not to do.

Sorry for any bad spelling the touch keyboard to small to write this much.

Shameless Craftsmanship. Why was this appoved?

I am surfing around in the app store and come across a shocking product listing.

It basically says yes the product does not work, because there bugs, and the developer does not care, because he is to busy making another buggy non working game for your iPhone.

At least that's how I read it. Isn't there any pride any more in delivering products that work. Or at least fixing something so it will work.
The amazing thing This app was not free, until people complained about, it. Don't people test products before they ship any more?

So Apple does reject apps to the app store, we know that. I guess if it falls into "It does not work, because it's developer to lazy to fix it" is ok and gets approved. This one, it's own developer abandoned it before he submitted it to the store, Unreal. Where's apple standards on rejection? I'd say does not work, would be #1 checklist item on the rejection list in my book.

Specially considering here this product was not free when it first was listed. Not until some people who paid money and found out it did not work. They told the apps developer, who only could make it free and not fix it. I guess that company dose not stand behind there products or work. At least that what it seems to be from such a product listing as that shown above.

It's developer at least could pull it from the store. And not waste people's time. After reading that listing I decided agaist buying any more apps from the app store. If there no standards on rejecting apps that do not work, Then I am not buying any more apps.

(There could be hundreds more paid apps out there that do not work either. If this got appoved, as a paid app. Then there has to be more such shameless non working apps out there.)

(Look at the pic. I had to document this, as no one would ever believe such a thing, The Product called crazy waiter.)

Space Invaders for iPhone

I played this game for hours at the local arcade when I was 10 yr. old. I absolutely loved it then. But now, It falls to short of everything else that came out after it, in the arcade vertical shooter genre.

The iPhone version controls stink. Another developer that just does not get how to make use of the touch screen and tilt controls, to make a great user experience. With that said, this game is a classic and if you want it on your iPhone, It's here for 4.99

App store passes 20,000 Apps...

It is amazing the app store seems to have more apps for the iPhone and iTouch that I can find for my mac. The store not even been open for a full year, wow!

Of coarse if we weed threw the absolute crap. Yes there a bunch of absolute junk touch apps out on the store (98% from my browsing). It is seemly impossible to locate the good apps without using a 3rd party app review website anymore. The sheer fact that dumb little fart machines and pushing buttons to see a mindless smiley face photo's are selling. These goof ball apps are actually finding people, to spend money to make these people an income.

It kind of like the reject flash game site type applications are making it big on the iPhone. It pretty interesting the fact people will buy anything as dumb as a door knob. But complaint from here to kingdom come, when a real great app makes it's way out on to the site.

I used to be able to go to http://www.apple.com/downloads/ and see hundreds of great new apps a month. Since the app store hit the market, there not even 50 a month of new app's (at apple downloads) listed for the mac, anymore. Though I have to say most of the mindless stuff that use to be for the mac is disappearing and more solid programs are now appearing. (hum? )

Like it or not the app store and touch apps are in hot demand. If you make one, there is someone out there that will buy it. Many of such people, seems to be the fact. (Boy it hard to keep developing serious desktop apps. When you see that making a goofy meaning-less apps, rewards you with riches.)

Who would of thought selling something from $0.99 to 9.99 below market value for a similar mac desktop app, would turn more of a profit. It is pretty amazing how in a bad economy the app store is making people money. Just imagine if the economy was normal, man it might just be a gold mine.
